Burial
at sea has been a tradition for as long as people have voyaged. In
earlier times, the deceased was sewn into a shroud of sailcloth, weighted
with a few cannon balls and sent to the seabed with appropriate maritime and religious
ceremony.
The service we provide
is based upon this solemn tradition, but limited to the scattering or
placement of cremated remains at sea. Religious aspects may be
included, as requested. |
Scattering
of cremated ashes upon the sea or Placement of a sealed urn of ashes on the sea bed
provide very economical and environmentally responsible alternatives
to a funeral with interment. This is why we limit our practice to Scattering of Ashes at
Sea and Urn Placements on the Seabed.
ASHES
TO THE
DEEP
provides these time-honored services from the time-honored tradition
of sailboats, only. |
